Chapanduka drops song on Covid-19

By Style Reporter

South Africa-based charismatic preacher William Chapanduka has released a single track titled Nyika Yenyu, a prayer to God in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Masvingo-born preacher, who leads Christ Resurrection Ministry (CRM), said the song is meant to comfort those hit by the disease as well as calling for God’s intervention.

“The song is a Covid-19 prayer to the Lord. As a Pastor, I have always known that in difficult times one has to call upon the Lord for intervention. The song is a prayer and a source of comfort to everyone that has been affected by Covid-19, a deadly virus that has killed millions of people across the world,” he said.

The track was done by T-Fresh Bits in South Africa where he has been residing since 2006.

Chapanduka’s church is home to the famous CRM Praise, a gospel music outfit that is known for its praise and worship prowess.

CRM Praise has recorded two albums to date.

The 41-year-old has worked with a number of musicians and pastors back home among them former Orchestra Mberikwazvo drummer Obert Gomba.

CRM Praise is led by director of music, Alastas Mushoriwa, who worked with the late musicians Andy Brown and Oliver Mutukudzi.

Chapanduka, who is also a businessman, has worked with seasoned gospel musician  Jonathan Mgazi on the track Sora Nezviyo.
